Salted Duck Eggs is a preserved food product made by soaking duck eggs in brine, or packing each egg in damp salted charcoal. Lai Hin Salted Duck Egg is certified halal by the Islamic Development Department of Malaysia (JAKIM) and is a very popular dish at “Nasi Melayu” stall and at your favourite “Nasi Kandar” stall. It’s also a common sight in hotels complementing with congee either during breakfast or even supper. The egg white has a sharp, salty taste. The orange red yolk is rich, fatty, and less salty. The yolk is prized and is very popular in Chinese mooncakes.
